Let's Connect

Stop Being an Expert

Episode #34

Welcome to episode 34.

Today I talk about how when we, as coaches, are striving to be Experts we disconnect from our own Expertise in our Lived Experience.

This disconnection is rooted in unhealed trauma - and I use the word "micro-trauma" to define traumas that we don't think are a "big deal" but affect us just the same.

This trauma shows up when we're trying to be the expert and show up for a class, webinar, creating a new program, etc.  The thoughts we think about ourselves and the energy we feel when we're striving to be an "expert"  triggers these traumas and keeps us stuck and not sharing what wants to be shared.

It perpetuates separation from Self.

IN this episode I'll share the 3 steps (although I don't explicitly call them this) to stop being an Expert and Step into your Own Expertise.

  • The first step is to heal and re-connect to your self, your body and this present moment,
  • The next step is to understand that your lived experience is valuable and real, it's healing and insightful to others and it's all you need to share and create from.
  • Finally, you don't need to "practice" what you teach and share. You just get to vulnerably and powerfully show up learning out loud and bring others into your experience.

    You know enough.
    You have enough.
    You are enough.
